2 out of 5 stars Weed Eating your patience   April 30, 2010

I read many great reviews on this product and in conjunction with the price, i thought it was worth taking a shot at it. After many hours of horrific frustration, I've come to regret that decision.

CONS: First, setting up the thing is a nightmare. It isn't difficult in the steps at all, but the parts are VERY cheap and it doesn't make for ease of setup or use.

Second, the trimmer line that comes in the box is the cheapest stuff you could imagine. I was trimming plain, normal, green grass and the line couldn't handle it. I do have a large yard, so i probably had to extend the cord out about 90-110 times and it took me over an hour to do the yard. Not only does the crappy line add an incredible amount of time to the yard work, but the more you handle the weed eater, the more you increase the odds of getting hurt. Just something to think about. I did replace the line with high quality line and didn't have that problem, but that was extra $ i had to spend.

Last, the weed eater is actually two main parts that connect together. Well, no matter how well you tighten it, the thing is ALWAYS loose. This drives me insane while I'm weed eating.

PROS: It's very inexpensive.

I gave this thing 2 stars despite my one star experience. Why? Because it is a very cheap product and you get what you pay for here. I should have known better. Unfortunately, I took a chance on a cheap product and paid for it. Read all my reviews, I rarely buy poor products. This thing though is truly a piece of junk! I'd rather swallow a box of rusty nails then buy this thing again.

5 out of 5 stars Hard to beat for the money   March 21, 2010

This guy proves that paying more doesn't mean better. I paid very little ( 29.95-39.95 ) and it has worked flawlessly. It get hard use and has yet to fail in any way.
It is very easy to respool the trimming wire and is over all very user friendly. Light duty or heavy duty jobs it has done for me equally well.
It is hard to go wrong with this little work horse

5 out of 5 stars I love this weed eater!!!   August 11, 2009

I am so happy I ordered this product. After weeks of frustration using a gas powered model that was very difficult to start, I was so glad I went ahead and bought this one instead. It is light-weight, has plenty of power, and is easy to assemble (and so nice not to have gas fumes!). I also liked the versatility... it easily snaps into a different position to use for edging. The string does wear rather quickly, but other than that, I have no complaints! I have a very large, very high maintenance Florida yard and this machine takes care of it just fine! Can't beat the price.

4 out of 5 stars This is an excellent trimmer for the price!   August 2, 2009

I have to admit at first I was apprehensive due to the price. I've always been one to believe in, "you get what you pay for." However, this was easy to assemble and even easier to use. It is very lightweight and I use this trimmer weekly. I am a woman with a medium build so if I can use it I think most people will be able to.

When we first bought our house the previous owners left the weeds get very thick. This trimmer did an excellent job and cut very close to the fence line as well. It did not lose any power at all. Our yard is about 1/4 acre with a fence in the back and weeds were every where. I highly recommend this weed eater. You will not be disappointed. I did give it 4 stars because the line doesn't last quite as long as some other models as another person said, but that is a minor flaw.

5 out of 5 stars Would not hesitate to buy from this company again   June 17, 2009

I recently bought a weed eater and was very pleased with the service. The product was received within days, boxed very well with instruction book and works unbelievably great. My husband purchased a gas one and assured me I would love it. I hated it. The weed eater I purchased is electric and lightweight. Now he keeps trying to use the one I bought.
