Amazon.com Review Weed Eater's Poweredge edger is a compact and easily maneuverable way to keep your lawn edges clean and precise. With a gear drive for more torque and performance, the 22 cc, two-cylinder engine has a remote air intake for a longer life. We're especially fond of the Poweredge's Comfortouch antivibration T-handle--it makes operation much more comfortable for long jobs. Offering three cutting depths and a stabilizer arm for consistently straight edges, the Poweredge's 8-1/2-inch blade cuts a variety of clean, deep trenches. Designed for both safety and precision, the blade retracts when the T-bar trigger is released. Two-year limited warranty.

GREAT EDGER November 15, 2009 Kenneth G. Schmidt I have had this same model for years and it finally died. So I purchased same and hope to have it for years.
EZ Edger November 14, 2009 The Sherrif (Dameron, MD USA) Received the product promptly, tried it out, and it worked like it should. Was easy to assemble, to start, and to use. Slightly underpowered for the first time through thick wire grass over the sidewalk but will do well for normal maintenance.
Weed Eater Edger exceeds expectations October 5, 2009 J. Jeffrey (PTC, GA) The machine is light, easy to use... I wore the first one out after 6 years and ordered the same product as a replacement.
Lightweight, but underpowered edger August 3, 2009 AZ I have used this edger for the past several years. I like that it is inexpensive, lightweight, reliable and much easier to edge with than using a weed whacker. While a weed whacker will edge though thicker and more overgrown grass than this edger, I liked this edger better because the weed whacker engines would always die (and not restart easily) when I turn the unit on its side to use it as an edger, and also that position was awkward to hold with a timmer. The weed eater edger seemed like a good step up. Sadly, it doesn't have enough power to spin the blade when there is much resistance. Also, the blade doesn't spin fast enough to cut the grass when moving forward, so I have to move it forward and backward like a vacuum cleaner to actually cut. It is not super convenient, but it you don't have a lot of curb to edge, and you edge it regularly it is pretty good. I could not cut though overgrown grass that hasn't been edged in a while though. I am finally going to replace it with a more powerful edger.
Easy to use but very short life July 10, 2009 TDman (Collierville TN) I must be crazy but I just bought my 4th Weedeater PE550 Edger. I have back problems so the unit is ideal because it is lightweight and does a great job of edging the grass. The big problem is that they don't last long at all. If you are real lucky, you might get 3 years service before it wears out. The last one I bought just last fall has already died. The quality of these units is very poor. I tried the Troy Bilt 4 cycle last year but took it back because it didn't edge as well as the PE550. This would be a great edger if it would last longer. Considering the short life, it is over priced at $149. I don't think I will buy another one.
