We've had this for a couple years, but don't use it that often. When we do use it, it does the job just fine and I love that you don't have to mess with gas. We have a large yard and don't think the cord is bothersome.

My Reconditioned edger came with a scuff on the top of the main housing and that's the only thing that told me it wasn't new. All the rest of the product was packaged as new. I'm not sure why anyone would buy new instead? I mean, after I used it the first time and it cut through that Tennessee red clay it was pretty dirty. My point is: it's a outdoor piece of equipment that does a dirty job - why would it be important to be new looking if it just works?
The motor is very powerful. I think if I let it cut through my concrete driveway it probably could. It was fun seeing the sparks fly out as it chewed through some of the rocks mixed in with clay around my driveway.
I'm impressed overall for the price.

The packaging in which it arrived looked pretty beat up and had me worried but everything was intact inside. I really couldn't tell that this was factory reconditioned because everything was virtually unscratched!
Assembly was pretty straight forward although there was one large bolt that you need to install that came all bend but I managed to get it straightened and installed.
This thing's pretty powerful for an electric although I only use it to edge the lawn and not trenching which would be more difficult. But it does the job well for edging including cutting out chunks of protruding sod.
The only reason I can't give it a 5 star is because I had problems with the front wheel and the back-right wheel getting coated with mud thrown up from the edging and thus throwing off the alignment of the edger. I'd think they should have designed it to avoid this happening but I guess I'll just make to make sure that the lawn is not watered for a day or two before edging.

I was very reluctant to order anything reconditioned, however, this is a great edger. There were a few difficulties when putting it together, but it works great!!

I received my purchase and when I opened the box the unit came with the shaft in two pieces to be bolted together. However the AC cord in the shaft was ripped in half by poor packaging. Rather than return it, I labored to get the cords out and spliced them back together. Amazon gave me a small credit for doing this, and the unit works wonderfully. Watch out for poor packaging and rough delivery.
